Salvation

One of my Meaning of Life pages is entitled "Lost", which I said I considered to be one of the saddest words - in any language. Jesus Christ came "to seek and to save the lost" (Luke chapter 19 verse 10). Who is Jesus? There are people who don't really know, but John chapter 3 verse 16 makes it plain: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life". The world! That means everyone, everywhere.

The Gospel (Good News) about Jesus is simple. Even a child can understand it! Believe and receive this gift from God - everlasting life in heaven because Jesus died for you, for all of us sinners (Romans chapter 3 verse 23: "Everyone has sinned and is far away from God's saving presence"). Jesus is alive in heaven RIGHT NOW, for ALWAYS, waiting to welcome believers when they leave their earthly life.

This is SALVATION. So, what must we do to be saved? Romans chapter 10 verses 9 and 10 give the answer: "If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved". FAITH means "believing in your heart". Verse 17 says: "So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ". How can you share good news if you don't pass it on? Tell others about Jesus! Don't keep Him to yourself! And, of course, behave as our Lord wants you to, always with loving kindness and compassion. 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 4 says: "Love is patient and kind". Read Proverbs 15 verse 4 in the Old Testament too: "Kind words bring life, but cruel words crush your spirit".

Becoming a Christian is a personal experience and unique to you. God loved YOU so much, and He will love you forever"
