Today is the day. It is time; don't delay; don't leave it "till you feel like it" (whenever that would be); don't wait until you are old (you may not live to be elderly!); don't write it off as "a load of rubbish", whatever you have heard people say. What is it time for? To BELIEVE that God came to earth in human form in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, a helpless baby who grew up to be the man who was nailed, completely innocent, onto a wooden cross. There He gave up His life as He took the sins of the world upon Himself. He is our REDEEMER - which means that He took this punishment, once and for all time, and paid the price we should all pay. Romans chapter 3 verse 23: "Everyone has sinned and is far away from God's saving presence".
So Jesus Christ came to this earth to be a RANSOM. God the Father raised Him from death (our wonderful Easter event) and He lives in glory in Heaven for eternity. On earth Jesus told people "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no-one goes to the Father except by Me" (John's Gospel chapter 14 verse 6). The "way" to eternal life in Heaven after we leave this earthly one is, therefore, by believing in Jesus and what He accomplished on the Cross. The other "way", that is, rejecting all this as fairytale nonsense, will lead to separation from God in everlasting darkness and utter hopeless, loveless misery.
How and why should I believe all this, you may say. Because it is in Bible, the Word of God written by many different people guided by His Holy Spirit. Jesus, the sinless Son of God, paid that ransom price for all time. The road of life is a journey each one of us is travelling. At some point there is a fork in the road. In which direction will you walk? Towards Heaven or towards Hell? Jesus prepares a place with Him, full of love, beauty, happiness and peace, for YOU! Romans chapter 5 verse 8 says "But God has shown us how much He loves us - it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us". And verse 10: "We were God's enemies, but He made us His friends through the death of His Son". So choose the Way, the Truth and the Life, and choose it NOW.
