Don’t Say No

You may have read my page called "Just say Yes". This looks like the same message... and it is, because it is the most important one for ANYONE to hear. In John's Gospel, chapter 3, an eminent Jewish man called Nicodemus came to see Jesus. He was a busy man, a member of the ruling council and teacher of the Law, so he decided to find Jesus late at night. After hearing about His healings and miracles he thought that Jesus had been sent by God, but he didn't realise that He was the Son of God, the promised Messiah who would save people from their sins. Nicodemus became a believer because he knew Jesus spoke the truth, with authority. He didn't say "No, that's not for me". As a result of this encounter he was assured of a place in heaven.

"No, that's not for me" can certainly be said if you are invited, for example, to go to a sports match or a concert, or asked to do a bungee jump! Decline... politely of course. But don't say "No" to Jesus. It's DANGEROUS!

The Holy Spirit of God is continually drawing people in various ways to the truth about Jesus - that is, that He took all the sins of the world in HIMSELF, as a sacrifice, when He was crucified. Believe in Him and you will have eternal life in heaven. Accept Him or reject Him - it's up to YOU. In Matthew chapter 10 verses 32 and 33 He says "For those who declare publicly that they belong to Me, I will do the same before my Father in heaven. But if anyone rejects Me publicly, I will reject him before my Father in heaven."

Persistent rejection of Jesus after "prompting" by the Holy Spirit means... hell.
