God planned from the very start for us human beings to live in fellowship and harmony with Him. But we know what happened, in Genesis chapter 3: Adam and Eve disobeyed the Lord by eating fruit from the forbidden tree and they and all their descendants were doomed to have many troubles and to die. God has provided the way for us to come back into this loving, close relationship with Him, by becoming one of us in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, dying with all our sins on the Cross so that we are made right for eternal life in heaven.

Here are some Old Testament verses, just a sample of the many there are about Jesus!

Zechariah chapter 9 verse 9: "Shout for joy, you people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you! He comes triumphant and victorious, but humble and RIDING ON A DONKEY".

All of Isaiah chapter 53 is about "the suffering servant" - Jesus!

Micah chapter 5 verses 2 to 4 tells us that God promised a ruler from Bethlehem. Jesus was born in that little town, one of the smallest in Judah.

The whole of Psalm 22! It begins "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"...Jesus' words as He hung on the Cross, as He died for us.

And John's gospel in the New Testament begins "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" ("The Word" is Jesus).
